Another brick wip, should be finished today. This scarlet yarn is a wonderful colour but the texture wasn't working well for jewellery. Talking of which:
These coral slices are getting the crochet treatment next. Not a clue as to what to do with them yet, I'll just yarn up and see what happens.
What a frustrating few days due to Weebly having a wobble! Back on track now though and it did give me a little extra time to crochet at least.
The Ruby crystal ring is finished now with a relatively small shank. Perfect for my little finger (or yours).
Red, it's a difficult child! These two match in daylight but not so much on my monitor. Just a little experiment anyhow, I intend to use black for the first finished piece.
And with the extra bit of sunlight we're getting here in the UK I've started to look through my yarns and stones to see which goes with what. This sapphire nugget pops nicely next to the brown I think?
... and error. It's the only way to learn. Nice colour way (inspired by a friend) but I'll rip it and start again.
These pearls are double bodied (how else is it described?!) and are a little odd to work with. I love their bubbly appearance though.
Rather lilac in colour and not how many of us expect an uncut Ruby to look, is it?
As with the quartz termination I wrote about a couple of days ago, I'd have bought a few of these if they'd been suitable shapes. Just the one this time though! If you look on the 'stones' page there's currently a photograph of this from a different angle and it shows a little smiley face on top :-)
Should I finish a wip or start on the coral next?
This is a quickie as we're dealing with the aftermath of a veterinary drama here! Yesterdays pearls turned into this:
And there's this done with the pink already:
Update tomorrow hopefully!
There's a few projects on the go here. Firstly, there's a little pearl work:
Crocheting with beading thread is a bit tricky, it's slippy stuff and super fine for that size hook too.
The other little project is with this Quartz crystal termination:
Better photographed against a dark background I realise but you can see the crochet progress at least. This is one of my favourite yarns as it's such a beautiful shade of olive. I'd like a lot of these crystals to create a necklace but it was difficult to find the right shaped stone ready cut. Ring or bracelet?
EDIT: It became a ring, a rather dangerous one at that!
The title is a much better description of the colour than simply 'yellow'. I usually choose colours to contrast rather than blend but I rather like how bright this one turned out.
It's only a little one as I wanted to start and finish it in one evening. The collection of bricks is becoming a mountain so I should get them drilled soon so I can get them dressed, if only to get my yard back!
A new ring! Brazilian Agate, faceted, set in black cotton. There is another of these stones available.
I realise that the colours aren't natural but they are very beautiful.
Most of the stone images are now uploaded so be sure to check out the 'Stones Available' page to see all the wonderful choice. One of my favourites:
A big tumbled piece of citrine which photographed nicely.
There's a new page today cataloging the stones I have recently purchased that are still available.
Currently there's only 2 images up because there are gremlins in the system tonight! I'll leave you with this abstract detail which is a heavily altered square from the Amethyst cab seen at the top of the new page.
