I don't often mix in such circles but recently I attended afternoon tea at the rather grand Bodysgallen Hall, a National Trust property less than half an hour away. It wer' proper grand.
For instance, this wallpaper decorates one of the toilets. Honestly, it was a bit intense in such a small space but it's not like I was in there long!
We had a party of 10 and were treated to the Drawing Room all to ourselves. With it's panelled walls and minimal lighting, it was pretty dark so the photo's are suitably atmospheric.
I have no idea who the portraits depict, sorry!
One of our number couldn't attend but was here in spirit via some lovely handmade chocolates. Nom! I should note at this point that service was impeccable throughout even when he walked it to find us rearranging the antique furniture.
The main room has two small nooks in one of which is this writing desk (with a rather surprised looking chap looking on). In the other, a very cosy space complete with it's own fireplace (there is a larger one in the main room). And, relax...
