High tides combined with bad weather sadly saw many local people evacuated from their homes this week.
I took these photos at high tide the following day but with far less intense winds. (You can see the serious flooding if you google 'Rhyl flood 2013').
There are concrete steps down here and then it's usually an inviting expanse of sand!
But this is what was behind me as I took those images:
It used to be a grassy bank with concrete paths and steps which had been there for over 40 years, maybe 50 even. Just gone.
My daughter says it looks like a giant has just come along and bitten it. I explained what had happened and we decided that it was a good analogy.
It was bitterly cold and still windy when I took these so I had to be vigilant with the tide.
However, my feet still got wet when this giant wave crept up on me!
Season's greetings! Yes, there is a boy in the house but he's smart enough to know that colour isn't gender specific.
x May December treat us all gently. x
Whilst preparing to teach I've been creating my own handouts. It turns out that taking quality photos of yourself crocheting is pretty difficult because most of it does actually involve 2 hands. You would think I might have noticed this by now and asked someone to assist. Lesson learned :-)
