So, a few little extras have started to arrive for my Kickstarter parcels. First to arrive were the shiny, new white pens so no one has to wait to begin doodling. Just unwrap and go!
And here we have me, not realising just how heavy and cumbersome cardboard is until the camera is actually pointing at me. Awkward! I'll be decorating these boxes before they find their way through the Royal Mail system. Haven't decided what with yet though :)
My Kickstarter campaign successfully ended yesterday with 107% funding. *insert fist pump here* What a great way to celebrate my first Inktober!
Here it is, a sample copy of my book of illustrations - to be totally doodled with all over! The top page is printed with a facing page of matching, but blank red. I've continued the doodle with white pen as an example of what can be done with the book but many pages are lighter so take an ordinary black pen or even pencil on the lovely matt pages.
The original inspiration for this apparently random doodle is actually a beautiful wood burl over on @pocketsfullofsawdust feed on Instagram. Burls + macros = no-brainer inspo!
But now to the fun bit; getting all the parcels together ready to send around the world to the smart cookies that pledged their hard-earned cash. Development photos to follow :)
I finally have a sample copy of my doodle book (this should be read with a very excited tone)! But, I'm still drawing so the final edition will be tweaked a bit to include the best bits. Check out the link above to see how to get your own copy for yourself or for a unique Christmas gift :)
Which version do you prefer?
Which also translates as autumn here in sunny Wales (brrr!). Don't forget to check out my Kickstarter project for you to receive a lovely little book of illustrations for your own doodles (or for a Christmas gift)!
I've put Inktober down long enough to start piling the colour onto a 1m square canvas. No idea where it's going but the colour felt mighty good and reflected recent finds:
Ok, so I didn't exactly 'find' the dog so much as look after him for a week :D
It needs a PS clean up but this florescent haired lovely might well make it into my Kickstarter book.
The project is now officially over half way to the goal - YAY! Click the link for a thoughtful way to support the arts and get a great Christmas gift too!
What with the summer holidays (i.e. kids home constantly) and now back to work (teaching) it felt like forever since I spent any serious time creating.
Kickstarter has changed all that though and look see, it's Inktober already too! I will endeavour to create an inky illustration every day in October (but working on my Kickstarter project will continue to take priority).
That said, already 46% funded. WHOOP!
Ink, abstract mark making, September 2015
So here it is, I have finally committed myself to a new beginning (publicly)!
You can read all about my project on my Kickstarter page but the upshot is: a book for notes and doodles decorated with my images throughout. There are other options too of course, badges/pins etc so there's something for all budgets. And all in time for Christmas! (Yes, it's coming.)
