So that's 6, 7 and 4 year olds craft-ertained today *wipes brow*. The youngest, my boy, didn't sew but managed to make some painterly joy. However, the older girls loved this recycled stitching project.
I've been collecting the bases from supermarket pizzas for ages so have quite a few to use up. The main plan is to do a little printing with them (to come soon probably) but today, we stitched.
They simply drew gently with a pencil then stabbed the holes out. That's the fun bit ;-) Only once they'd practised did they understand the need for more holes on the arcs and less on the straight lines. The flower was done by our lovely visitor who had never stitched before but picked up simple running stitch easily enough. Super easy, cheap and concentration heavy for them = brilliant craft for the holidays!
